In January 2014, CGCS secured a two-year grant from Show of Force / Half the Sky Movement to conduct monitoring and evaluation on their project, which will involve interventions in Kenya and India. CGCS’s role will be to assess the impact of a multi-million dollar intervention by HTSM to promote global gender equality as described in Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn’s 2010 bestseller Half the Sky. Through a documentary film, educational videos, and mobile games, the project seeks to change attitudes and behaviors regarding gender norms in Kenya and India.
In August 2016, the Center for Global Communication Studies (CGCS) merged with the Project for Advanced Research in Global Communication (PARGC) to form the Center for Advanced Research in Global Communication (CARGC). This archival website serves as a record of the events, publications, and other materials created by and for CGCS from 2006-2016.
